New Growth in The Garden | Gardening Journal 3

Lots of changes to the garden I need to update you all on! As usual, there's a link to my Vlog on YouTube at the end of this post if you'd rather watch the action than read about it.
Firstly, the radishes did not survive after the ant infestation so whilst their leaves grew on the top, the veg actually just split or were the size of a 5 pence so I threw those out! In this bed, I also planted onion seeds but these never showed themselves so they got the push too!
After I completely turned over this bed, I decided it would be the perfect place for me to plant my courgettes which meant I didn't need another raised bed after all. The courgettes were looking fantastic in my grow house but it was getting too hot for them so I knew now was the right time to get them outside. Both plants were already displaying offspring but the yellow one is absolutely thriving.

As you may remember, I also had a selection of "funky veg" growing in my grow house from seed. These too were ready to go outside and separate from each other. I think realistically, these should have been separated a lot sooner than this but it was still too cold outside and I didn't have the space (nor the trays!) to put them in their own trays. Nevertheless, they seem to be surviving after the move! Along with my courgettes, I planted the rainbow chard. Now, I have absolutely no idea how you're meant to plant chard and until I planted these and thought I'd have a Google, I had no idea what they looked like either. In hindsight, I think they're a bit cosy in this bed so I may have to thin these out in a week or two once I see who's the weakest link!
Moving onto my other raised bed, it was a similar story. Only three out of probably six baby lettuces that I planted from seed were looking fab but there was no sign of the dwarf lavender so once again, I turned over this whole bed just leaving the three lettuce and in this bed, I planted another yellow courgette which came from the funky veg selection along with purple carrots and purple brussels sprouts. Again, I'm going to sound like a broken record but no idea how you're supposed to plant sprouts! Once again, I looked into it afterwards and they're definitely going to need more space...
Then in my last bed aka patch of bare soil, I had constructed a wigwam to grow my french beans up. These were at a good height in the grow house and with a week of warm weather ahead of us, I decided they too could go outside and enjoy the sunshine.
In other news around the garden, the raspberry bushes are in flower and the bees are loving them, my tomatoes are standing tall and strong with barely any assistance from me and my mint plant is overflowing its pot.
I'm absolutely thrilled with how well the garden is looking this year and how much more activity is going on everywhere you look.
I hope you enjoyed this update and hopefully, the next time I check in, we'll be picking some vegetables!
Much Love,
